The public is invited to an interactive art experience called 'Silks in the Sun'.
First Date & location : Thursday July 15th 5:30 PM to 7:30PM Rain date will be July 16th Location: IAM Center for Creative Healing, 1621 Sayman Rd New Albany, Pa. There are facilities available and transportation to the field for those who can't walk to the performance area. Remember this will be outdoor experience. Experiencing nature is part of this program. Please bring what you feel you would need like water, a camping chair or sunscreen. What is Silks in the Sun? This interactive performance art piece will be completely free to participate. People can be a spectator or join right in. Experience the ethereal wonders of moving silk in a natural open air setting. Artist, Karen Black will show you how to play with silk veils and fans with a few quick and easy techniques. Then everyone will be free to explore and transform themselves through the power of sunlight through silk. While participants are playing Karen will be photographing their silhouettes through the silks. Participants will be completely anonymous. Silks will be provided. It is requested that you wear no sharp jewelry or Velcro that can damage the delicate silks. No outside photography will be allowed during sessions so not to interfere with the spontaneous development of this artistic creation. My hope is that this art experience can be repeated in different locations to create a future multimedia presentation.
