Karen's Art Studio and Atelier represents a life long artistic desire and is located in the beautiful Endless Mountains. A private studio for commission work; travel teaching for public events; and a private publishing company rounds out Karen's artistic outreach. Recently an Atelier has been opened and Students wishing to sharpen their artistic skills can join into ongoing classes. See below for more details.
Karen works in numerous mediums, from acrylics to oils to watercolor. She specializes in the use of centuries old methods to create non-toxic works of art. Although self taught through childhood, Karen was fortunate enough to receive training through the Society of Decorative Painters and a private atelier. Karen creates murals, miniatures, commissions of all sorts and teaches from her studio, if she's not illustrating or writing her latest book.
Since 2003 her works appear in Europe, the Caribbean and throughout the United States. Her ornament designs have hung in the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian’s Garrett Gallery. Contact Karen for teaching or commission opportunities. Follow her on Facebook to find out current events.
Karen worked 2017 - 2018 with the Pennsylvania Partner of the Arts Artist in Residence Program which allowed Karen to offer free art classes at the Sullivan County Public Library in Dushore, Pa. Free arts classes continue still thanks to private funding.
Karen offers Semi-private classes on a weekly basis from her atelier in watercolor, graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, acrylics and oils. Contact Karen for more information on scheduling.
